April is all about poetry – Vol. 1, no. 9

As the month of April progresses so does the poetry in this particular  presentation for the month designated as National  Poetry Month.  This link will take you to the actual  Poets.org site.  They have many resources available for young writers  just starting out on their writing careers as well as resources for established  poets.  One such resource that I have found to be helpful is Goodreads.com  which allows you to review the books that you are currently reading so that  others can get an understanding of what the book is about.  One of the  groups on Goodreads.com is ony for poetry.  So enjoy!

‘Presumed Innocent’

Presumed Innocent.

Silence.  Deemed guilty.

Blood runs free and red.

Wounds gape ugly.

Rust leaks into and

mingles with the blood.

Matted hair glued to what was

once a face, now obliterated.

Stiletto projectiles pierce

deep to crown with shame.

raspy breaths struggle for air.

Suffocation beckons.

Blood tinted water flows

as heart tissue gives way.

Death imminent.

Innocence slaughtered.
